A drunken driver driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle ran over a group of Lebanese children in Sydney, killing four of them, two sisters, their brother and their cousin, and wounding three others seriously, according to authorities in both Australia and Lebanon on Sunday.

The Australian police said that the 29-year-old driver, whose name was not revealed, will appear in court Sunday after he was charged with 20 charges, including manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol, following the accident late Saturday night in the Outlands suburb of western Sydney. .

She added that the children were on the platform when the SUV jumped and hit them.

According to the police, the four dead were three girls between the ages of 8 and 12 and a 13-year-old boy who had died at the scene, while three other children, two girls and a boy, were taken to hospital where they are being treated and their condition is stable.
