An American man died in Wuhan as a result of infection with the emerging corona virus

The US embassy in Beijing announced Saturday the death of an American infected with the coronavirus in Wuhan, the epicenter of the disease, marking the first confirmed death of a foreigner in the city.

"We can confirm the death of a 60-year-old American who is carrying the Corona virus emerging in a hospital in Wuhan, China, on February 6," a US embassy spokesman told AFP.
